Lost Packages

29 Sep

Ana loves flowers and this time of year she enjoys perusing the garden catalogs for bulbs she can add to her flower beds. Recently we put a couple orders in for bulbs, but accidentally had them shipped to our old address in Cashmere, instead of here in College Place. We’ve spent the last couple days trying to track them down and get them redirected.

Like those packages, each of us has been heading in the wrong direction at one time or another. That’s why Jesus came to this earth, “to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 NIV). We all were lost, but with His death on the cross He paid the cost to redirect us to a new final destination.

Unlike our missing packages, which have no say in where they end up, we each have a choice. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9).

Today, make sure you’re heading for where you really want to be. Don’t end up lost like our missing tulip bulbs. Accept Jesus as your Savior, give Him control of your life, and He’ll make sure you get delivered safely to your heavenly home someday soon!

God bless and have a wonderful day!
